Optimat is playing a leading role in the RES-HOSPITALS that was launched this month by a European consortium of health sector agencies from eight countries. The three year project is co-funded by the Intelligent Energy Europe programme and is aimed at overcoming the barriers to the exploitation of renewable energy systems in hospitals. Optimat role is joint project management, case studies and development of a RES Guide for European Hospitals. The project was showcased at the recent CleanMed Europe conference in Malmo where John Taylor delivered a good practice paper on the barriers to the exploitation of renewable energy in hospitals and Angus Hunter delivered a foresight paper on zero carbon hospitals.
