Public Procurement workshop on sustainable transport in cities
December 3, 2013

Optimat played a leading role in the organisation of a pioneering workshop in Rotterdam on 3rd December 2013 on how the procurement power of city authorities and major transport-intensive companies could be mobilised to accelerate progress towards sustainable zero carbon transport systems. The workshop was an important milestone in the EU/FP7/TRANSFORM project, which Optimat is managing on behalf of the UK Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and another eight partners from five European countries. It involved 40 invited stakeholders from six European countries. The outcome was that Five Task Groups have been established to explore options for collaborative action and they will come together at a 2nd workshop in Barcelona towards the end of 2014.
