Optimat’s John Taylor has recently presented at the Association of Doctors Working in Hospital Administration (ANMDO) conference in Rome. He was invited through Optimat’s involvement in the European project, RES-Hospitals. John presented the lessons learned through studies into 18 European hospitals investigating how to achieve 50% of energy from renewable source by 2020 and the development of zero carbon roadmaps for the hospitals.

John also launched the Renewable Energy Systems Guide for European Hospitals written by Optimat for the project. It contains numerous examples and case studies of how hospitals have installed renewable energy systems and how health boards and national/European policy makers can support further use of renewable energy in hospitals.
