European project to develop policy roadmap for energy in healthcare

Optimat has been awarded a contract by the European Commission to develop strategic roadmaps for innovative energy solutions in the healthcare sector. The roadmaps will provide direction to policy makers on how demand-side interventions could overcome the barriers to wider market uptake. The Energy4Health project will involve partners from the UK, Netherlands and Poland. It builds on a project that is exploring how public procurement could be better used to drive the development of innovative solutions to healthcare challenges (www.ecoquip.eu) and another on the barriers to the wider investment in renewable energy systems by hospitals (www.res-hospitals.eu).
